IMPACTS & GOALS FOR 2022

We want to thankyou so much for being part of our Raie community! We strive to be better and decrease our environmental footprint everyday! We have just finished our second year in business and have learnt so much along the way.

Take a look at our goals and impacts for 2022:

We ship everything using a carbon neutral service. Our packaging is made of high quality cardboard and is extremely sturdy to protect your sunglasses. We ship our sunglasses in a recycled cardboard box that you can recycle too!

Each pair of Raie sunglasses is shipped in a vegan leather case to protect your sunglasses. For another layer of protection we place each leather case into a recycled cardboard box. Our marketing cards are made from recycled cardboard and can all be recycled too. Our labels are printed on No Issue Co sustainable thermal labels & if you choose gift wrapping, we use No Issue Co's recycled tissue paper and stickers too!

We design all of our products with minimal waste! We don't over sample or over produce. We are a 'first in, best dressed' situation here. We work closely with our suppliers across shores to ensure both ours and their needs are being met! We aren't a fast fashion brand and never aim to be one. We like to introduce classic colour ways that can be mixed and matched with seasonal brights throughout the year. 

Our office is solar powered and full of natural light and breeze. We have a large compost and recycling bin! Our office furniture and stationary is all ethically made. We buy our stationary from local artisans such as An Organised Life.

We have decided to introduce custom bio acetate in 2022. Bio Acetate colours are extremely limited at the moment and we wanted to ensure our customers are able to receive the colours they request without compromising the environment.  Being transparent, this means a much longer lead time  and higher cost price for frames, but we know it will be worth it! 

Our lenses are made from 97% recycled plastic! We also use high quality lenses for that extra level of sun safety. 

We use high quality German Hinges to protect your sunglasses from widening or the legs becoming loose. 

We want transparency from start to finish of the supply chain and want our customers to know who made their sunglasses. We ensure the workers from the factories of our packaging and materials are certified with safe working conditions (SA8000). All of our products are made in the People's Republic of China.

Our Instagram is forward-thinking and innovative towards new approaches for inclusivity. We aim to portray a mix of content on our Instagram, ruling the way our consumers 'absorb' their daily dose of media. We aim to always portray a mix of culture and ethnicity, making sure no one is marginalised. We aim to not over sexualise our models and share safe and enjoyable content for all. (+ a mix of cute cat pics)

Each quarter we donate to a different charity. We currently partner with:

One Tree Planted (We plant a tree for every purchase) & 

WWF (saving Aussie koalas).

This is just one way we aim to give back to our community.
