AIKO STUDIOS
For those of you who don’t the Aiko girls, meet Emily & Mollie they are the creative brains behind Aiko - a branding, photography & design studio.
We chat with Em & Mollie about their recent Raie Shoot at Fleur House in Bilinga on the Gold Coast.

Shooting together was so much fun, tell us a little about the story behind Aiko? Why does Aiko get you out of bed every morning?
Aiko started a little bit by accident, we each were freelancing in the creative space and had worked together in-house for a brand in which we did a lot of photography and styling. We both enjoy
ed working together and were always talking about what we wanted to do for work, so when we had one shoot come up that we did together we decided to give ourselves a name.
Aiko is actually a japanese girl’s name that roughly translates to love child which we loved as with any creative work it is always a collaborative effort for the end result.
We shot about 30 pairs of sunglasses at the shoot! What were your favourite sunglasses to shoot?
E: It’s so hard to choose but I can’t go past the Jacquie Zodiac!
M: I loved the Lakota Black!

All the colours of the house and the sunglasses worked so well together! How important is post production for sunglasses when editing photos?
Like any project, post production is essential for perfecting what you captured on set. Anything from dust marks, finger marks and pesky reflections are what we look for and then overall colour tones that work with your feed or website!
The Fleur house was an interior lover’s dream! What area was your favourite to shoot at Fleur House?
How could you not love the living room? The lamp, the oval lounge, the natural light and I personally loved how the island bench was a long oval with the furniture complimenting the build.
What do you do when you are feeling uninspired?
E: When i feel that way i love to step away from my computer and take a break, flick through some magazines, Pinterest and collage.

Who would you like to have a 30 minute meeting with?
M: Currently I’m into Sir James Dyson. I don’t think I’d have much to contribute but I’d love to just listen to him talk. Or Emily Weiss from Glossier.
E: I’ve always said i’d love to have a chat with Pip Edwards, I just love her style, vibe and of course the creative direction of P.E. Nation and how it became what it is today.
